Wood and metal telescope and wood case presented to Captain Richard Hamor for assisting the British ship "Dominica" when it had caught fire on August 3rd, 1860. Corresponding letter is from the Royal Admiralty explaining the incident and how Richard Hamor and Aaron S. Lanfor both were awarded telescopes in thanks for their help. It is addressed to R.W. Gillen and dated 8th August, 1958.
